Easy, quick and yummy scroll base recipe

What more could you want in a recipe?

This is so fast to throw together. No rubbing in. Just mix and roll out. Great base for cheesymite scrolls. I layer it with barbecue sauce, cheese, ham, tomato and whatever else is going. Roll them up, cut into slices, brush with beaten egg or milk. Cook for about 20 minutes in a 200 degree oven.

1 and 3/4 cups plain flour
1 and 3/4 teaspoons baking powder
pinch salt
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 cup milk

Double the recipe and pop some in the freezer too.

Mmmmmm . . . scrolls! What if you don't have any buttermilk? Can you use milk instead?

I'm not sure Kat. I'm sure it would be OK (I am just a sucker for buttermilk recipes. My scone and pancake recipes use buttermilk too)

Hi I just linked over from one of your comments from hoppo bumbo - i was fascinated by your name!
And this looks like such a yum recipe - we are suckers for any kind of scroll at our house, especially the vegemite variety; and a throw-and-mix kind appeals so much more than the rub-butter-in-forever variety! Can't wait to try it out.
I like your writing style - so funny!
