A Fairy House

One of my personal faves!

In October 2008
I came across this blog tutorial
for a carry along doll house.

I jumped in with enthusiam to make my then 19 month old daughter
her own little fairy garden.
It was a labour of love
and a trial of patience,
(not one of my better virtues)

Of course, once I had shed blood, sweat and tears,
I realised that it would be trashed if she got her chubby little baby hands on it
so it was hidden away high on a bookshelf 1 ands 1/2 years gathering dust.

My daughter has just turned 3
and admittedly may well still trash it
but short of putting it away until she turns 18
or getting her to sign a legal document,
I have to hand it over at some stage.

The fairies came from etsy.
I also made up little felt draw string bags
which I filled with little frogs, butterflies, ladybirds and the like
as well as some fairy wands with glitter and colour.

This is one of my prouder moments as a crafts person.

I was so happy with the result.

It is a great little idea and has so much scope for your own personal theme
for your own little person.

Perfect. I remember when Nikki from My Black Cardigan made two for her twins. There was much cursing involved then as well!

Looks really fiddly to do this all. You can really be proud.

OMG Tas this is completely divine!
I am making one of these for my 2y.o.'s birthday - but it is just a house to play with, your fairy theme is so lovely though.
I can see why it was hard to part with!
