100.

(guardian.co.uk)

Followers, that is.

Now how did that happen?

Gradually, over the past couple of years
I have attracted 100 people who apparently want to read what I say
or read about what I am doing.

Go figure.

I will admit that #100 was a ring-in.
Mr Boozle has steered clear of my blog
as I have apparently made him feel unwelcome
but his resolve has waned.
Mainly because he knows that he gets mentioned now and then
and I reckon that he wants to be able to complain to the editor as necessary
or initiate a defamation lawsuit.
So, quickly, before I lose any of those 100 followers
(as happens along the bloggy yellow brick road now and then)
I am having a giveaway.

You don't have to be a follower of my blog to enter.
But if you are here because you have googled
"freebie" or "competition" or "giveaway" or "meat tray",
then go away now.

Don't comment because you won't win.
If I don't recognise you
or you aren't an established follower
or have a blog,
then sod off.
My most frequently hit blog post was a giveaway one
(though Elle Macpherson is giving it a run for its money.
I do have a little giggle at people stalking Elle who end up at my blog post)
It was the end of my idealistic beliefs (= naivety) to find that people out there just
stalk the giveaways.

If you are a regular reader or a quiet follower,

feel free to say "hi".

I will post out something to the winner depending on their interests and tastes.

How to win?

Leave a comment telling me your qualifications...
For example,
"I have followed your blog for ever. I too covet gorgeous fabric.
Yes, coffee makes the world go round.
Geeze, your cats suck.
I also adore Audrey Hepburn and John Barrowman"
would definately get you an entry.

However "I have no idea who you are but I am a political fanatic from Kyrgystan
who would love to discuss the health merits of tofu with you once
I enter the 2678 competitions that I found by googling giveaway today"
will have me hitting that "delete" button right after I hit the "block" one.

Just show me that you know something about me or my blog.
(Preferably something nice but I promise I wont lick your prize before I post it
if you win after a critical comment)

I will post anywhere
and will pick a winner randomly
sometime in the near future.

Oh, and Mr Boozle, you can't enter.

PS Thank you, 100 fabulous people. I appreciate the time you take
to be part of my world.

Aw man, & all I really wanted was a meat tray.

What do I know about you? I think the question should be; what do I know about your husband, & I think I would have to answer that, after a certain link shared this afternoon, with "too much". ;)

Happy 100th, even if that last one is a spy.

I have weird blog habits. And I don't happen by your blog MOST EVERY BLOOMING POST because I consult my Reader (cos I hardly ever do consult my Reader). So, I just checked. It seems I was NOT one of the 100 and am therefore immediately disqualified. Which matters not, cos it gives me great joy to be Number 101.

PS. Dear Mr Boozle, you should only be mildly alarmed at the things that your wife writes about you. Probably not quite at defamation lawsuit just yet.

My dear Ms Myrtle and Eunice, you don't have to be a follower, dearie. I just have to know you- you hang around enough to be part of the furniture :)

Hmmm lets see....
I know that you're a vegemite aficionado just like me.
I know that you like to tell it like it is.
I know that I love your sense of humour and reading about your take on life.
Here's to 100 more followers!

Hooray for the 101!
What I know and love about your blog most is that pic you posted long ago of your feet holding the wool while you wound it into a ball. LOVE that one.

oh and I am completely jealous that you are the passenger on long trips and get to knit. Soooooo not the story here.

I know you drive with confidence in traffic and it takes a lot to get a word in on long distance drives! Isn't that right Al? ;-) I know you have a heart softer than melted marshmallow and you love homemade fingerbuns!

I usually read you in my reader, so had to come across to make sure I was in fact a follower. Then I wondered how long I had been reading you, and was surprised to find it's almost a year. Time flies! So what do I know about you? You knit and sew, and that's what would have brought me here initially. What's kept me here is your humour and your storytelling. You make me think a bit. But not too much.

Congratulations on reaching 101!

I think I started following your blog after your 'heading south for the winter' post.
I loved it and was hooked.

I know you're a fellow Tasmanian. You write about everyday stuff and you make it interesting and funny.
All while being left handed...
So clever!

Are there seriously people out there that 'stalk' the giveaways?
I never even considered such a thing. I wonder if it's worth while...?

YAY! You popular thing, you!! (And I knew you way back when...).

I love that you still wear the beret you made last year.... at least, you wear it when you're in Tassie.

I'm off to check if I'm a follower... not that I use my reader.

I know you have a wicked sense of humour and make me laugh!! And I like to think you partly started this blog because we had a little dare between us...remember? Something about if either of us caved and took out an Otto sub we had to start blogging :D

That is the funniest giveaway post I think I've ever read! I actually joined up as a follower yesterday after reading your "whoosie Aussie kids eating watered-down vegemite" post so perhaps I'm #100?

I read through a backlog of your posts and had to contain my mirth at many of your ramblings because I was at work - in a shared office. And engineering is generally not that funny!!

I am not sure if I am noted as a follower or not, but you are linked on "favourite blogs to read" list on my blog, and when my blog is working (deep sigh about distracted hubby's) I adored doing the blog rounds to all my favourite friends. I adore your creativity, and your humour.

really, do you really think people google meat tray? Oh, what have I been missing out on? I am off to do that right now. I feel like you are trying to make me think...I don't like to think. But I do like it that you knit, and do zumba and make nice clothes, and have a bit of an animal thing... whatever that means!

Oh you nut bag!! Yay for a giveaway, i'm here to win it, to share my meat try with Elle MacPherson & our extreme buddies over in Turkmenistan (death to all other 'stans).
We email behind the scenes, 'off blog' & most definitely 'off topic' & i thoroughly enjoy the chats.
Happy 100th follower, i remember thinking i was pretty big time when i realised i had 30 followers 18 months ago & was like hell yeah, i'm here, i'm blogging regularly & i'm racing.
Tee hee. Finally, just for reading your blog, we're all winners, love Oprah, i mean Posie

Tas, I love your humor. Just laught about your todays post. The pics are great!

I often don't comment because I am to lazy and it costs me still an effort to write my wooly thoughts in English.

Congrats to your 100 and more...readers.

Happy hundred Tas!
I knew you when-you were 'Queen of Bags'. ;)
I think we share many things....some not mentionable here but espec. newfound love of yarn!, 60 billion-odd shared favs on Rav., cupboards bursting with fabric, Staffy love , too-late nights and coffee to wake us up.
Keep it coming, I loves to read it. :)

ok here comes the first of a binge/rash whatever you want to call them of catch up comments as I have been pretty damn slack. It is quite likely this is going to get boring for you.

hmm qualifications, would it help if I said the doctor sent me?
