Consumerism at its best

Easter is in April, right?
No sooner than the big man in the red suit has hauled his ample butt up our chimney
than that furry, long earred rabbit with a basket has visited our supermarkets
to drop off hot cross buns and Easter eggs...
I'm thinking that the bunny needs to get another interest to fill in the summer months
so that we can digest the candy canes before we start munching on creme filled eggs.
(and maybe visit the gym)

I can't believe it either! I'd heard somethings like this, and then I went to the supermarket myself last night, and lo and behold... Easter Eggs! didn't see any hot cross buns, but I'm sure they were there somewhere. What is the world coming to?! I'm tempted to make my own chocolate for Easter this year. And luckily I don't like Hot Cross buns, so they won't be getting much money out of this (reluctant) consumer!

Don't even get me started on this! I'm horrified to see hot cross buns in the shops...it's the first week of January!

I'm wondering if there's anywhere left in the world where I can hide from all this ridiculousness!

I quite like hot cross buns. But you know 90 days of them is a bit over the top.

Our supermarket put a big tray of them, along with the caramel eggs, right at the door this week. Sad.

I'm with you Tas. Remember when we were kids and you had to wait and wait and wait for things? The anticipation used to nearly kill me but when the big day finally arrived (be it a birthday, Easter, Christmas or whatever) it was sooooo special. Consumerism is killing that. I simply refuse to buy the eggs or the Hot Cross buns right til the last minute and I hope that others will do the same.
