Duck Soup and Embroidery

An addiction.
...no, not to duck soup.
I am addicted to embroidery in the same way that you get if you ever get a label maker.
You find yourself consumed by the need to label everything in sight.
Now, I just want to embroider, embroider, embroider...
But today I realised that I hadn't turned on my sewing machine or overlocker since
I started playing with my new baby.
So I sewed a skirt for my daughter...

(and then stuck an embroidery on it)

Tas the skirt is gorgeous, the embroidery really finishes it off.

Tas it looks great. Did you do a satin stitch to attach it or a straight stitch all around the edge? Did you do the embroidery on some tear away stabilizer? I have heard of people using felt but then you would have to cut around the edge and I was thinking the felt would show?

Hey Clo. I attached it with a small zigzag. I am kinda making this up as I go along at the moment until I learn more. But this was an applique embroidery done onto felt (that beige colour you can see around the edge?)
